Mr. Vallez has over 45 years of hands-on and leadership experience in project management, engineering/construction management, cost, and schedule control, change management, claims, and dispute resolution. He has served in executive management roles for both owners and contractors working on world-class commercial, high rise, oil and gas, power, and international mining projects for 40 years. As a structural engineer with years of hands on project management, contracting, and field construction experience, Mr. Vallez has keen insight into the best practices for achieving high quality results on a wide variety of projects and structures. He has designed and implemented concrete placement and forming systems including the use of concrete pumping, bucket placement, and slip-formed systems for post-tensioned slabs, pan slabs, and slab-on-deck systems for low-rise, mid-rise, high-rise buildings, and other structures. His technical ability is augmented with the proven skills required to assemble and lead successful project teams of subcontractors, suppliers, and supervisors to complete projects on time, under budget, and with high quality. For McDevitt and Street Company, a top three national contractor in the 1980’s, he developed the BEST (Build Excellence Straight Through) quality program and was assigned the largest and most challenging projects in the Company’s national portfolio. He has been involved in leading top teams toward achieving compliance with project requirements as defined in project documents, client expectations and industry best practices. In all, he has provided leadership on several billion dollars’ worth of projects in the commercial, chemical, heavy civil, mining, power, oil and gas, and industrial sectors. Mr. Vallez also has written several books about construction management, safety, and effective project leadership.
